If you still straighten your hair with chemicals, you are so last century. Hold on, I know black people have been keeping their hair basically the way it comes for ages, but this natural hair movement (aye, it's a movement) is quite recent. Hands up if you're in it. And a lot of people, male and female, black and non-black agree, natural hair is shockingly beautiful, when it's well managed of course.
It's like the face of a tropical vegetation- wild, luxuriant, coquette and proud. You just have to love it. But ask the ladies, this natural hair thing is no walk in the park, what with all the products, attention and time it requires.
There is a key for every door and natural hair is not an exception. So hair texture differs for everyone and environment and lifestyle are big influencers, but people like Dr. Karina, a model and beauty expert have found ways to manage their hair problems and are ready to help you with tips.
Let me give you a few of mine for free here (I know them because I was a natural in my past life):
1.) Moisturize. Drink a lot of water and feed your hair topically as often as possible with water. Dry is never okay.
2.) Understand your unique hair texture.
3.) Eat healthy.
4.) Learn. Note what works for you and what doesn't, and appreciate the fact that everyday couldn't be great hair day for you. So do braids sometimes and if you feel like it, wear a wig.
You are welcome.
