Yoshitoshi's Emotion Packed Scultptures

What Japanese sculptor Yoshitoshi Kanemaki gives with these new pieces is the mindbending caress of the surreal. They mostly feature figures of young women carved from tree trunks and with faces multiplied to represent expressions noting a range of various emotional states.

One of the greatest favours we can do for consciousness is to seek awareness. Understanding that we are made of a multiplicity of emotional vibrations, most of which are at surface, inexplicable and ambivalent could serve to create a balance by virtue of having come to terms with the emotions that slither in the recess of our minds, ready to throw themselves up at any given moment. These Marvelous wood sculptures may be the projection of your own emotional configuration.

This Farm In Benin is Africa's Model of Sustainable Agriculture

Songhai Farms located in the Republic of Benin is perhaps the number one model of sustainable agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa. The farm operates on the principle of "zero waste' where every output is utilized in a way that there is no waste, and that sustainability is assured. Basically, it is a system that mimics the way our natural ecosystems work. Father Godfrey Nzamujo, an expatriate African priest and former instructor at UC, Irvine runs the agricultural estate which he founded in 1985 with the aim of tackling hunger and creating jobs, while protecting the environment.
